Child-SafeTM & Child Protection

Making Nailsea Karate a Child-Safe club

Child-SafeTM is a police-approved scheme and registered international charity which aims to encourage children and young people to participate in travel, sport, community groups and specific school programmes.

Nailsea Karate, and our sister club Backwell Karate, work with Child-SafeTM, to create a safe environment where your child can learn Karate and continue to develop. All of our instructors have been DBS-checked (formerly called Criminal Records Bureau checking) and have attended at least one Child-SafeTM seminar.

We would welcome you to read our child protection policy. All new starters receive a copy as a matter of course when they come along for the first time.

The Child Protection Officer for both Nailsea Karate and Backwell Karate is Bryan Gideon, who can be contacted by emailing childprotection@backwellkarate.org. The Deputy Child Protection Officer is Tim Griffiths, who can be contacted by emailing timgriffiths@backwellkarate.org.
